Renaissance is a French word meaning rebirth.  Some say it was moving from the Dark Ages to Enlightenment.  It was an age of adventure, curiosity and experiment.

It was at dusk and I came across a huge field of beautiful bright orange pumpkins.  It doesn’t sound like much, but at that moment you could feel the incredible magic of nature.

When Veronica was small, she would often walk through the Iberia woods taking note of the wild violets.  “The never seemed blue to me,” said Veronica.  Therefore, the poem, “Roses are red.  Violets are blue.” never made sense to Veronica.

Although Veronica has never been to New York, when she sees a train fly by, it makes her think of that fast paced place.  As she painted “In a New York Minute,” she was moving very quickly and couldn’t stop until it was finished.

It is said that a mute swan never uses its voice in captivity.  How are humans like mute swans?  Veronica thinks that anyone in captivity starts to shut down, whether that is mental, emotional, or physical captivity.
